Blanche, 51, an American attorney and former prosecutor will serve as the acting United States attorney general. February 5, 2025, Supreme Court justice Thomas swore Bondi into office as USA's 87th attorney general. On Bondi's first day in office, she shut down the FBI's Foreign Influence Task Force, the DOJ's Task Force. Bondi an American attorney, born in Tampa, Florida, studied criminal justice at the University of Florida in 1987, before going on to receive a professional degree in 1990 from Stetson University College of Law. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1991. 18 years as a prosecutor at the Hillsborough county state attorney’s office, trying cases 'ranging from domestic violence to capital murder'. Florida's first female attorney general in 2010, served as the 37th attorney general of Florida from 2011 to 2019. Worked heavily on opioid abuse and human trafficking. Served on Trump's opioid and drug abuse commission. April 2, 2026 was her last day as USA's AG.
